EDEL POKAL 2026 will take place in Berlin and welcome dancers from across Germany and beyond for a full day of competitive dancing. Organized under the GDO framework, the event offers an opportunity for couples and solo dancers to perform, compete, and gain valuable experience on the dance floor.
Berlin continues to be one of Europe's major dance hubs, hosting numerous competitions throughout the year. EDEL POKAL adds to the city's active dance calendar and creates a meeting point for athletes, coaches, and dance enthusiasts from different backgrounds.
Venue
The competition will be held at Kulturhaus Peter Edel in Berlin, a well-known cultural venue that regularly hosts artistic and community events. The German capital offers excellent public transportation, international connections, and a vibrant dance scene, making it an attractive destination for competitors and visitors alike.

Registration
The deadline for entries is 26 October 2026. A dancer or couple is considered registered only after the required registration has been submitted during the registration period and all required payments have been made. A confirmation email will be sent after registration and payment; participants must check names, dances, levels, and age groups immediately.
No additional entries or changes may be possible at the event. If a registered and paid dancer or couple does not attend, no refund will be provided. Cancellations after 7 October 2026 are also non-refundable, including entry fees and admission tickets.
Travel & Accommodation
Berlin is easily accessible by air, rail, and road, with several airports and major train connections serving the city. Competitors traveling from outside Berlin should consider booking accommodation early, particularly during busy event weekends.
Notes
Schedule times are approximate and may change. The organizer is not required to stop or delay a competition when a dancer or couple misses a heat; heats will not be repeated and no refund will be provided.
Terms & Conditions
- Participation is at the participant’s own risk. The organizer is not liable for injuries, accidents, health problems, or personal belongings left in the ballroom, changing rooms, or other competition premises.
- Photo and video recordings may be made during the event and used by the organizer for documentation, reporting, and promotional purposes, including websites and social media, subject to applicable legal requirements. Registration or ticket purchase constitutes acceptance of these terms.
- Age categories are determined by the dancer’s age on the competition day and may be verified by passport or ID. U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U19, and U21 dancers may additionally enter only the next older age category. Amateur dancers may compete only in their own age category. O35 dancers may additionally enter only the next younger age category.
- Permitted level combinations are Newcomer + Bronze (Beginner), Bronze (Beginner) + Silver (Rising Star), and Silver (Rising Star) + Gold (Open). EDEL POKAL OPEN is open to all levels and may be entered additionally.
- The GDO German Championship is exclusively for dancers with valid GDO membership. Participants are responsible for selecting the correct age group, level, and category. The Chairman may remove incorrectly entered dancers or couples without refund.
- Adjudicators may not coach participating dancers or provide remarks and opinions during the competition. Dancers and couples may not approach adjudicators for opinions. Marks and results are final. An adjudicator may not judge a category in which a close relative competes.
