The Szeged DanceSport Open 2026 returns to Hungary for another international weekend of ballroom and Latin dancing, bringing together competitors from different countries for two days of WDSF competitions. The event combines International Open categories with youth, junior, under 21, senior, rising stars, and solo Latin competitions, creating a busy and competitive atmosphere across the entire weekend.

Hosted by Papiron Szeged Sport Club, the competition has built a strong reputation within the regional WDSF calendar. Previous editions achieved solid ranking coefficients in both Standard and Latin International Open events, attracting experienced couples looking for valuable international competition experience.

Past coefficient values included:

• WDSF International Open Standard: 1.55, 1.20, 1.40
• WDSF International Open Latin: 1.45, 1.55, 1.25

The competition takes place at the IH Event Center in Szeged, located directly near the Tisza riverfront.

The venue features a spacious 20 x 13 meter dance floor, providing comfortable conditions for both Standard and Latin competitions throughout the weekend. Registration

The registration deadline for the competition is 24 June 2026.

Participation is open to members of official WDSF national member bodies who hold valid WDSF ID cards.

Entry Fees

WDSF International Open Categories

• 65 EUR per couple
• 60 EUR if paid in advance via PayPal on the registration page

WDSF Open Categories

• 45 EUR per couple for the first category
• 35 EUR for each additional category per day
• 40/30 EUR with advance PayPal payment

National E, D & C Class Competitions

• 15 EUR per couple

Solo Latin

• 30 EUR per dancer
• 25 EUR with advance PayPal payment

Dancers are encouraged to register early, especially for the International Open and solo events, as the competition traditionally attracts a strong number of entries.

Travel & Accommodation

Szeged is easily reachable by car, train, and bus from Budapest and several neighboring countries. The city’s compact center makes it convenient for visiting dancers, with hotels, restaurants, and cafes located within a short distance from the venue area.

As the competition takes place during the summer period, booking accommodation in advance is strongly recommended.
