  • The organizer may refuse entry or admission, change the timetable, running order, rounds, adjudicating panel, or venue arrangements, combine events, reschedule, or cancel an event where reasonably necessary.
  • The Official Event List determines category eligibility, dances, age limits, fees, deadlines, and category-specific requirements.
  • Entries are accepted only when complete, paid, and confirmed. Competitors are responsible for correct names, dates of birth, categories, and partner details. Identity or proof-of-age documents may be required.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable unless the organizer publishes otherwise or cancels the relevant event. Late changes require approval and may incur an administration fee.
  • For couples, the age group is determined by the older partner, and both partners must satisfy the classification requirements. A partner change is not permitted unless the organizer approves it in writing before the event.
  • Professional and Asia Closed categories are open to participants from countries in Asia and Oceania.
  • Amateur competitors may not enter non-Amateur events except Amateur Rising Star, Youth Under 21, and Junior Under 16. Amateur Rising Star competitors may not enter categories below Pre-Amateur.
  • A Pro-Am couple consists of one dance teacher and one Amateur Student. The Amateur Student must not work professionally in dance or actively compete in other competitive dance-sport categories. The Professional partner must currently compete, or have previously competed, at Amateur Open or Professional Open level.
  • Competitors must check in, collect their number tags, and report to marshalling at least five events before their scheduled event, or earlier if directed. Number tags must be clearly visible and competitors must follow floor-management procedures.
  • Adjudicators’ decisions and officially published results are final. Only clerical, identity, eligibility, or operational matters may be raised promptly with the designated Competition Official; marks and placements are not subject to appeal.
Conduct, costume, and safety

Respectful conduct is required. Harassment, abusive or unsafe conduct, disruption, unauthorized coaching from the floor, and attempts to influence adjudicators are prohibited.

Competitors must be medically fit to participate and wear safe, secure, family-appropriate costumes and footwear suitable for the floor. The organizer may require immediate correction or disqualify a non-compliant competitor. A parent, guardian, teacher, or other responsible adult must supervise every competitor under 18.

The organizer and authorized partners may photograph, film, record, livestream, and use event images, performances, and results for editorial, promotional, archival, and broadcast purposes without further payment. Entry data may be used to administer the event, verify eligibility, and publish results. Participation is at the individual’s own risk; the organizer is not responsible for personal injury, illness, loss, theft, property damage, or travel and accommodation costs caused by a cancellation, postponement, or change outside its reasonable control.

Beginner, medalist, and juveniles rules

The appendix applies to Beginner/Medalist and Juveniles U12 and U10 couples categories unless the Official Event List states a more specific requirement.

  • Beginner/Medalist competitors must dance only prescribed syllabus figures up to Gold Level, as defined by UKA, ISTD, or NATD.
  • Open variations or choreography outside the approved syllabus are not permitted in Beginner/Medalist categories. An appointed official may inspect compliance before or during the event.
  • Competitors entered in Beginner/Medalist categories may not participate in Open category events.
  • Couples entered in Beginners U12 and U10 may also participate in the corresponding Juveniles U12 and U10 categories.
