German Masters will take place on 11 October 2026 in Wiesbaden, Germany. The competition is organized by Masters Series.

The organizer describes German Masters as an independent event, operated outside any federation and following the Freedom to Dance movement. It welcomes international participants, with a national eligibility restriction for the solo Newcomer category.

What to Expect

• International Standard / Ballroom: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, and Quickstep.
• International Latin: Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive.
• American Smooth: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz.
• Solo competitions: Newcomer, Beginner, Rising Stars, Open, Masters Series Cup, and World Trophy, with single-dance through four-dance events.
• Couple competitions: Beginner, Rising Stars, and Open, with single-dance through five-dance events, plus Phoenix Cup and World Masters Trophy for Amateur and Professional.
• International and regional adjudicators, with diplomas, medals, and/or cups for finalists after their session.

German Masters is listed as the fourth Masters Series event of 2026. All Masters Series Cup solo participants collect ranking points. Prize money is offered in the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19 Masters Series Cup finals, exclusively for members of the Masters Series Membership Program.

Registration

The event listing gives a registration deadline of 2 October 2026, while the organizer's General Rules of Conduct, effective 1 May 2026, state 4 October 2026. Please confirm the applicable deadline with Masters Series before entering.

Register through Flymark. Registration is complete only once the required form has been submitted within the registration period and all required payments have been made. The organizer sends purchase information by email after receiving registration.

Check the dances, levels, and age groups on the schedule received through Flymark and report mistakes promptly. Additional entries or changes may not be possible at the competition. The organizer reserves the right to refuse registration without explanation.

Admission & Arrival

Every dancer must purchase a €15 ballroom entry ticket, without a seat. Competitors should be in the ballroom at least 30 minutes before their scheduled dance time. Schedule times are approximate and may change.

The rules list number collection at the German Masters reception at Kurhaus Wiesbaden from 7:00 to 15:00 on 11 July, which conflicts with the October event date. Confirm the correct collection date and time with the organizer.

Age Categories

Solo age groups are U4, U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U19, Amateur (19-35), and O35. Couple age groups are U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U19, U21, Amateur (19-35), O35, O45, O55, and O65; Professional competitions are also listed. The rules define U categories as under the stated age and O categories as over the stated age.

Age is determined on competition day and verified using passport or ID date-of-birth information. For couples, the older partner determines the age group.

• Under-age solo and couple entrants may additionally enter only the next older age category. U19 couples may also enter Amateur.
• Amateur entrants may compete only in their own age group.
• O35 solo dancers and O35/O45/O55/O65 couples may additionally enter only the next younger age category.

Levels, Syllabus & Dress

Solo dancers may combine Beginner + Rising Stars or Rising Stars + Open. Beginner and Open cannot be combined. Solo Newcomer is restricted to German competitors or dancers living in Germany with no previous competition experience; Newcomers may also enter Rising Stars, Masters Series Cup, and World Trophy, but not Open. Masters Series Cup and World Trophy are open to all solo levels. Incorrectly entered solo dancers may be removed by the Chairman without a refund.

Solo Newcomer and Beginner, and couple Beginner, are restricted to the WDO Juvenile syllabus. For younger dancers in these categories, the rules recommend clothing without rhinestones and low block heels.

Solo Rising Stars, Open, and Masters Series Cup, and couple Rising Stars and Open, have no clothing, figure, or shoe restrictions in these rules. For U12 and younger dancers, WDO Juvenile clothing and syllabus and low block heels are recommended.

Beginner couples are encouraged to enter Rising Stars. Rising Stars couples may also enter Beginner and Phoenix Cup categories.

Competition & Adjudication

Dance music lasts 60-90 seconds, except Viennese Waltz, which runs for up to 60 seconds, and Paso Doble, which runs to the second highlight. Tempi follow WDO rules.

Adjudicators give equal weight to technique, musicality, character, choreography, complexity, performance, and, for couples, partnering. Early rounds use selection for advancement; finals use placements and the skating system.

Rule violations, including syllabus or age-category errors, can lead to a first-round warning, disqualification of results in the next round, and last place in the final. Missing a dance in the final results in last place for that dance. The organizer does not have to pause the event for a missed heat, and missed heats are not refunded.

Adjudicators may not coach competitors, discuss competitors' performances with each other, or comment on their marks during the event. Competitors may not approach judges for opinions during the competition. Judges cannot adjudicate categories containing relatives or also compete at the event. Marks are final.

Cancellation & Event Terms

The organizer's rules state that registered and paid entrants who do not attend receive no refund. Cancellations communicated after 24 September 2026 are also non-refundable.

The rules state that participation is at the participant's own risk and that the organizer is not responsible for health problems, injuries, or belongings left in the ballroom, changing rooms, or other competition premises.

The rules assign commercial video, television, and livestream rights to Masters Series by Novora Culture Concepts LLC-FZ and state that event photos and videos may be used commercially. Under the stated terms, registering or purchasing tickets constitutes acceptance. Photographers using professional equipment must apply for accreditation or a licence.
