Community Guidelines
DanceNetwork is built to help dancers connect, grow, and feel safe while doing it. These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone using our platform — on the website, through our forms, and across our social channels.
By using DanceNetwork, you agree to follow these guidelines. If something feels off, please report it — we take safety and respect seriously.
Our Community Values
Respect comes first
Treat every dancer, coach, parent, and club with basic human respect — regardless of level, results, nationality, body type, background, or goals.
Dance over ego
We celebrate ambition, hard work, and high standards — but we don't support toxic behavior, humiliation, or "winner takes all" attitudes.
Professional mindset
Be honest, clear, and responsible. If you're seeking a long-term partnership or coaching, communicate like you mean it.
International and inclusive
DanceNetwork is global. Different cultures and languages are welcome here — kindness and good intent are the standard.
Who These Guidelines Apply To
These guidelines apply to everyone interacting with DanceNetwork, including:
- Dancers looking for partners (Latin, Standard, 10 Dance, Smooth, etc.)
- Coaches and trainers
- Parents or guardians communicating on behalf of minors
- Clubs, studios, and teams
- Anyone submitting forms, sending messages, or participating on our social pages
What We Encourage
- Honest profiles: Share accurate information about age category, height, location, level, program, goals, and availability.
- Clear communication: Be direct but kind. Set expectations about training frequency, travel, relocation, and competition plans.
- Respectful tryouts: Be punctual, prepared, and transparent. If it's not a match, say so respectfully.
- Supportive community behavior: Celebrate others, share opportunities, and help dancers feel welcome.
- Success updates: If you find a partner through DanceNetwork, please let us know — it helps keep the platform accurate and inspires the community.
What Is Not Allowed
False or misleading information
Do not submit fake profiles, impersonate someone, reuse photos without permission, or intentionally misrepresent age, level, location, or goals.
Harassment, hate, or humiliation
DanceNetwork does not allow harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or hateful language. Discrimination based on nationality, race, gender, religion, disability, or any protected characteristic is not tolerated.
Inappropriate behavior or messages
Any sexual, manipulative, or exploitative behavior is forbidden. This includes sending unwanted explicit content, pressuring someone into private situations, or repeatedly messaging after being asked to stop.
Spam and unrelated promotion
Do not use DanceNetwork to spam users, scrape contact details, or promote unrelated products/services. Relevant dance-related opportunities may be allowed when they are honest, respectful, and clearly presented.
Public shaming and drama
We don't handle conflicts through public call-outs. If there's a problem, report it privately — we will review the situation and act where needed.
Safety and Protection of Minors
Many dancers in the community are under 18. Safety is a priority.
- Appropriate communication only: Messages to minors must stay respectful and strictly dance-related.
- Parents/guardians are welcome: Parents may communicate on behalf of minors, and are encouraged to be involved in tryout logistics.
- Zero tolerance: Suspicious, inappropriate, or unsafe behavior involving minors may result in immediate removal and further reporting where required.
Profile Responsibility and Quality
- Keep your profile up to date: If your location, level, goals, or contact details change, update them.
- One dancer, one active profile: Duplicate listings may be removed to avoid confusion.
- Remove inactive profiles: If you've found a partner or are no longer searching, please request removal or update your status.
- Respect consent and privacy: Only share photos and contact details you have the right to share.
Reporting, Moderation, and Decisions
If you experience or notice behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it. We handle reports as confidentially as possible.
How to report
- Use the contact page or any official DanceNetwork reporting channel (email, social media DM, etc.)
- Include screenshots or links when possible (especially for inappropriate messages).
- Describe what happened clearly: who, what, when, and where.
What happens next
We review reports and take appropriate action to protect the community. Depending on the situation, actions may include:
- A warning or request to edit content
- Profile removal or post removal
- Temporary restriction
- Permanent ban for serious or repeated violations
DanceNetwork may remove content or restrict access at its discretion to keep the platform safe, respectful, and useful.
Updates to These Guidelines
DanceNetwork evolves with the dance community. These guidelines may be updated as the platform grows and new use cases appear. We encourage feedback — and we build this space together.
Thank you for being part of DanceNetwork. Let's keep the community safe, respectful, and inspiring — united by dance.
