Lillestrøm Sportsdansklubb

Lillestrøm Sportsdansklubb, commonly known as LSKdans, is a member-run DanceSport club in Lillestrøm, Norway. Founded on May 4, 2011, the club provides recreational and competitive dancing for children, teenagers, adults, and professional-level athletes.

LSKdans aims to build an inclusive sporting environment centered on enjoyment, belonging, and achievement. Its programs welcome dancers regardless of age, experience, gender, or disability.

Classes and programs

Young children develop coordination, rhythm, motor skills, confidence, and enjoyment through age-appropriate movement. Beginner groups introduce dances such as Samba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Waltz, and Quickstep before dancers progress into more technical Standard and Latin programs.

Competition pathway

The club offers a structured route from recreational classes to recruitment, competition, and elite teams. Developing dancers work with fixed partners and begin at regional events. Competition groups add choreography, performance work, strength training, and regular Standard and Latin sessions before progressing to national competition.

Elite dancers train several times per week, attend specialist camps with Norwegian and international coaches, and compete at regional, national, and international events. International athletes can compete under World DanceSport Federation licensing through the Norwegian system.

Organization and facilities

LSKdans is affiliated with the Norwegian Dance Federation and the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports. The nonprofit club is operated by its members and volunteers.

Its centrally located Lillestrøm home contains two dedicated dance halls used for classes, coached training, independent practice, and events. The studios are also available for external rental.
