DSP Kometa Brno

DSP Kometa Brno is a competitive DanceSport club in Brno, registered in the South Moravian division of the Czech DanceSport Federation. It forms part of the wider Kometa dance program, which provides routes into dance for children and adults before progression to club-level competition.

Classes and development

The club's core disciplines are International Standard and International Latin. Its structured training groups support dancers at different performance levels through group instruction, individual lessons, supervised practice, movement and conditioning work, and training camps.

The associated Taneční Studio Kometa offers introductory dance for children, boys and girls, adult couples and adult solo dancers. This creates a pathway from recreational classes into competitive DanceSport.

Coaching

Club president and head coach Martin Odstrčil leads Standard training. Jan Tománek and Kamila Tománková lead Latin training, while David Odstrčil and Tara Bohak coach both disciplines. The program also uses specialist coaches for physical preparation and practice sessions.

Competition and events

DSP Kometa Brno fields couples in Czech and international Standard, Latin and 10-Dance competition across children, junior, youth, Under 21 and adult categories. The club organizes the Kometa Cup series and is the organizing club behind the international Brno Open Dance Festival, which includes Czech and WDSF events.
