Dansfélag Reykjavíkur

Dansfélag Reykjavíkur (DR) is a Reykjavík DanceSport club founded on 24 April 1994. It operates within Dansskóli Köru, and students from the school who enter DanceSport competitions represent the club.

DR is affiliated with the Reykjavík Sports Union and the Icelandic DanceSport Federation. Its role includes supporting dancers' development, training opportunities and participation in domestic and international competitions.

Dance programs

Dansskóli Köru teaches social, ballroom and Latin dance to children, teenagers and adults. Depending on age and level, the program introduces dances such as Cha-Cha-Cha, Jive and Samba as well as Tango and Viennese Waltz.

The club works with the school on training camps and supports members who travel to competitions. Competitive dancers can progress toward Icelandic championships and international events through the federation system.
