Dance HQ

Dance HQ is a Ballroom and Latin dance school bringing dance tuition to communities across Shropshire, United Kingdom. It offers welcoming pathways for children and adults, from complete beginners learning their first steps to experienced dancers preparing for examinations and competitions.

The school was originally established as Step By Step Dance Instruction in 2014 and rebranded as Dance HQ in 2021 to expand its range of dance and movement activities throughout the region.

Adult classes are offered at different levels, allowing dancers to progress from short introductory courses into novice and advanced training. Wedding lessons range from learning a few comfortable steps to creating a fully choreographed routine for the couple's chosen song.

Teaching and community

Dance HQ is led by Ross Millar, who began Ballroom and Latin dancing at age 15 and competed nationally. His achievements include winning the Britain's Best ballroom event, reaching the final of Champions of Tomorrow, and becoming a grand finalist at the invitational DPA Finals.

Alongside regular tuition, the school runs social events, practice opportunities, workshops with visiting dancers and teachers, and trips including visits to Blackpool. Its community projects have included Strictly Shropshire, a charity dance show that trained beginners to perform in support of Hope House Children's Hospices.
