Aalborg Dance Center
Aalborg Dance Center, also known as Aalborg Danse Center or ADC, is a member-run dance association offering recreational and elite competitive training for dancers of all ages and levels in Aalborg and the wider North Jutland region.
The center welcomes ambitious competition dancers as well as people who want to exercise, socialize, and enjoy dance in a community setting.
History and values
ADC was formed in 2002 through the merger of Aalborg Sportsdanserforening and Nordjysk Sportsdanser Forening. The two associations had deep local roots: Aalborg Sportsdanserforening began in 1967, while the activities that became part of Nordjysk Sportsdanser Forening originated with Lilly Nicolaisen's dance school, founded in 1971.
The merger created one of Denmark's largest dance associations at the time, with approximately 500 members. ADC's continuing goal is to make high-quality dance education available regardless of age, experience, ambition, or disability while building friendship and community among its members.

The youngest class combines dance, play, and music for children aged 2–4 accompanied by an adult. Further children's groups develop movement, musicality, rhythm, motor skills, and confidence. Competitive Standard and Latin groups are available for dancers who want intensive technical development.
Beginner partner-dance classes introduce dances such as Waltz, Quickstep, Cha-Cha-Cha, and Jive. ADC can also help students find a dance partner when they do not already have one.
Coaching
ADC's teaching team includes experienced elite competitors and world champions. Current instructors include Gints Berzins, Bjørn Bitsch, Errol Williamson, Heidi Nielsen, and Mira Rødbro. The club combines high-level technical instruction with an emphasis on enjoyment and social connection.
Trial classes
Many groups offer a free trial lesson before registration. Contact the club or consult the current timetable to find an appropriate age and experience level.
