DanceNetwork started from a personal problem — finding a dance partner.
Now I want to move to the next problem I often face myself as a parent of a dancer.
Competitions.
Big international events or small local competitions — they are an important part of dancing. A chance to show yourself and your skills, watch other dancers, and keep improving.
But when you start planning competitions, things quickly become complicated.
Competition Information Is Everywhere
Different countries, cities, federations and rules. Timetables, categories, registration, deadlines.
Some information is on Instagram, some on federation websites, and some on organizers’ pages. And it gets even more complicated when a dancer competes in more than one federation.
I value my time, and I don’t want to spend hours searching for all this information.
What I Want From a Dance Competition Calendar
I want one place where I can find a competition, see up-to-date information, check the timetable and important details, and plan the dance calendar.
This is what I want to build step by step with Competitions on DanceNetwork.
Not a calendar for one federation. Not a calendar for one country. Just a practical place for dancers and parents to discover competitions and find the information they need.
We Give You the Information. You Decide.
We don’t choose the “right” federation. We don’t tell you where you should compete. And we don’t promise to have every competition in the world.
That would be unrealistic.
If a competition is relevant to ballroom or Latin dancing, it can have a place on DanceNetwork. Whether that competition is relevant to your country, federation, level or dance goals is something you decide.
We give you the information. Where you dance is your choice.
In the end, I’m simply building a tool that I would like to use myself.
